LOOK | Break the monotony ft Urban Decay Naked 3.

Don't ask my why my head is tilted like a confused dog? I couldn't tell you!

I'm trying okay to fall in love with the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, so damn hard too. I would never say that I'm scrooge when it comes to spending on make up, I'm happy to spend my extra pounds on an expensive lipstick or a new foundation, but when I purchase something and I end up not using it ever, it really grinds my gears. The Naked 3 palette comes in at £37 which is enough money for me to be annoyed at the fact I have owned it for around 4 months now and I have literally used it twice - both of those times I literally made a concious effort as well. I just don't reach for it ever. I thought that maybe trying an out of the ordinary look might get me interested in the palette and this is what I came up with. It looks less vivid in the picture btw, it was a lot more stark in real life.

My face make up is all as normal, I might do a foundation routine style post soon to save time on these LOOK posts, the only difference I made was that I used MAC Tenderling as a blush and theBalm Mary Lou Manizer to highlight, I don't do this everyday!

For the eyes I took a pencil brush and applied Darkside on my inner and outer corners before blending Nooner into the creas as a transition shade. Next I took some Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Bisque and dabbed it in the middle of my eye as a base for Strange to cling to. That concealer is another product I just can't fathom the hype for, it's just okay as far as I'm concerned! To deepen the look further I took Blackheart over where I had already placed Darkside and also on the lower lashline. This colour was the most dissapointing for me, it looks stunning in the pan but doesn't translate on the skin! I lined my waterline with the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude - I love this liner! To finish the eyes I blended everything out with Strange, did a dramatic wing with the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner and coated my lashes with Maybelline One by One Volum' Express Mascara. I like the end result but I could just of easily done this with the other Naked palettes, if I'm honest.

Another thing that makes these shadows difficult for me is that the tone they have makes it hard to chose a lip colour. I tried a pink first and it looked weird, a purple did the same and I wasn't even bothering with red that day so I ended up wearing L'Oreal Nude Ballet gloss but I don't think it 100% went. I don't know, maybe I'm just being fussy! I do seem to be the only blogger who doesn't fawn over this palette! Sigh.
