REVIEW | Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit.

Probably the only time I've photographed myself with my hair up. First time for everything, I suppose.

Do excuse the bizarre photo, I never realised how difficult it was to get a semi-decent photo of a contour before! Moving on. My sister, like me is into makeup but doesn't tend to expose herself to as many products as me so when she said she was going to by the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit I was a little surprised, a lot jealous and also excited because I knew she would let me have a little play with it when it arrived. And that I did.

Top row: Vanilla, Banana, Sand. Bottom row: Java, Fawn, Havana.

What struck me first is how small the thing is, I expected it to be about the size of a 16-pan MAC palette but it's actually nearer in size to theBalm Meet Matte Nude palette. None-the-less it's still got that wow factor, the powders inside are buttery smooth and surprisingly they suited my colouring pretty well. I had to write up about this because I absolutely adore the contour it gave, to me it's obvious but still fairly natural. I love it! In the above photo I used Fawn to bronze my face, a mix of Java and Havana to contour and then Vanilla to highlight. It's so damn pretty! I also used Banana underneath my eyes but to be honest I don't think it's anything to write home about, not on my skin tone anyway. I used a light hand but still, I'm not sure how this would fair on much deeper skin just because it worked so well for me and I'm a little paler than an NC15 at MAC. Just something to think about I guess!

This product definitely isn't a necessity, it's £45 and the only place I think it's available in the UK is Cult Beauty so it's not cheap or easy to get but if you have the money and you're looking to get more into contouring I think it's beautiful! So glad I got to have a play with it for free ;)

    1. I was really surprised about how much use I could get out of all the shades! I've used it a few more times since I wrote this and I haver gotten to use all the bronzer/contour shades which makes it a bit less painful for the price I suppose!
