I seem to spending a hell of a lot of time at my desk lately, I guess that's thanks to the fact that I am now an unemployed graduate. I'm a statistic! Anyway, as a consequence I've noticed that I always have a few things to hand which have become king-of desk essentials.
I keep my camera on my desk because now I'm moved back home, the best place to take photo's seems to be at my desk. Its white, flat and has semi-decent lighting, plus, it doesn't hurt that the Nikon V1 is one of the prettiest camera's out there in my opinion. It sort of doubles up as an ornament! I also keep my book of choice at my desk to try and encourage me to read it more, I'm not a huge reader but I am trying to get more into reading for fun now that I have endless free time. I'm currently switching up between Great Expectations (An old favourite) and Ben Dupre's "...ideas you really need to know." series. I've bought the Philosophy and Politics to start with but I really need to get my hands on all of the rest! They're so informative and fun to read... or maybe I'm just being nerdy.
I always keep some water to hand, since buying this tumbler from Matalan I have been drinking far more water and my skin is thanking me. It's really strange how using nice cup can make you more inclined to drink but it really does. This plain, clear tumbler was only £3 at Matalan but I know that you can get them for as cheap as £1.25 at Home Bargains.
My phone is with me where ever I am so it's no surprise that it's included here. Like my screensaver? That's my Bichon Frise Nala, isn't she cute? The final essential for me is lip balm. If I'm in the house, I'm not wearing lipstick but I don't like to leave my lips bare. This Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream smells amazing and really is a saviour for seriously dehydrated lips!
Other than that, I just have some sunglasses from ASOS (You can get them here.) and freebies from Cosmopolitan (Nice one.) on my desk It's right by my door so it reminds me to pack them!
Hope you enjoyed noseying around my desk!
