REVIEW | Korres Guava Lip Butter.

My lips have gone crazy lately. When I get ill, especially in winter, my lips chap like there's no tomorrow! I've been using chapstick and Vaseline  which usually work for me, but for some reason, they just haven't met the call of duty. I've heard so much about these Korres Lip Butter's but to be honest, £7 for a lip balm, for me is too much. It was only because I am quite desperate for my lips to go back to normal that I decided to purchase it.

I looked at swatches of all of the shades and the only two which really looked particularly nice to me were Jasmine and Guava. (I found swatches here. Thanks!) I ended up buying the Guava lip butter because I found it for £5.29 on eBay (Still some available if you're interested - here.) I was however, a little shocked to find that when I applied the Guava Lip Butter that it was not transparent as I'd been led to believe by blog post's I'd read on it. It is very white cast and as such, makes the chapped lips stand out! This is not so important for me, as I tend to wear lip balms/butters underneath lipstick or gloss and I'm sure it would make the lips look beautifully nude if they aren't in quite so bad a condition as mine are at the moment!

As for the treatment this product provides, hmm. I could take or leave it. It's certainly not holy grail or a savior but it does last a decent length of time and provide some moisture. It's creamy to apply and thin enough to be comfortable. I will be looking into buying the Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine, so I guess you can tell I'm not harbouring a hatred for this product. I do think this is far too raved about.

I think, it feels luxurious because it's such a nice brand and the packaging is beautiful, for sure. I just wouldn't necessarily say that £7 is an appropriate price point for a product that gives a similar result to Chapstick. There is always a danger with cult beauty products for disappointment and the Korres Lip Butter, in my opinion, wasn't worth the risk. Oh, well.

    1. I really want one of the stick versions, I would've bought that instead had I known they did them. So much more hygenic!

  4. I've used Korres Pomegranate lip butter and absolutely loved it! It wasn't the greatest at tackling super chapped lips, but it always left my lips feeling comfortable and I loved the fruity smell and coral tint. If you like coral-pink shades, Pomegranate is definitely worth checking out :)
