TAG | Why Do You Wear Makeup?

I'm feeling really ill at the moment, to lethargic to do anything much - I think i'm getting the flu :( - I wanted to keep up on my blogpost's so I decided to do a simple tag, specifically, "Why Do You Wear Makeup?". I watched this tag on ViviannaDoesMakeup, and decided to give it a go.

When did you begin loving makeup?
I have an older sister and since I was quite young I remember seeing her playing around with makeup, so I was always sort of privy to makeup but it was never like I am now. My mum has never been into makeup and so she never really 'taught' me or my sister about it. Make up up until around last year was just something everyone wore, I never really gave much though to how you are 'supposed' to apply it or what makeup was best for me. I guess because of that i'd say I really got into makeup around last year. It sort of coincided with my working in a department store - I worked on jewelery which was right next to makeup so I could scower new products on slow periods at work.

How do you feel without makeup?
This is quite a strange one, I feel perfectly comfortable without makeup, I just feel scruffy without it. I know there are plenty of women who don't wear makeup but I daren't dream of going out without my makeup on, that's just me. I think I get that from my Nan, she was a cleaner at a local school when I was little but everyday without fail she would make sure she was fully made up before she left for work, sounds silly but I think it's quite sweet. I was speaking about this the other day with my sister the other day, and I was saying how lovely I think it is that women of the older generations have so much more pride in their appearances, I love that.

What do you like about makeup?
It's just so luxurious, it makes you what you want to be. It makes you feel spectacular, like one of those iconic women above! It's a subtle way of expressing your style too, I just love makeup!

Three Holy Grail items?
Hmm, okay. I won't say much on this because I plan to write a "Holy Grail" post pretty soon but I would say my MAC 239 Brush, my newly found holy grail foundation, the YSL Touch Eclat and Urban Decay Sin.
