TAG | Great Expectations.

“I loved her against reason, against promise, against peace, against hope, against happiness, against all discouragement that could be.”
Charles Dickens, Great Expectations.

Thought I'd share my favourite quote from the book with you! Isn't it adorable? Anyway!

So, I am sitting around on a cold, dull weekday doing some normal Blogger reading to procrastinate from the revision I so need to be doing. I came across this tag on Slice of Wonder (Check out their post here.) and thought it was a fun idea, here goes nothing!

Beauty bad habit to get rid of...

I like to think that I don't really have any, of course I sometimes leave make-up on when I've been out drinking or silly things like that, but I don't have a consistent habit. One thing which I do want to change though is how often I wear bold lip colours, I think they can look quite striking against my Arctic colouring. Yeah.

Beauty secret to add this year...

Lets see, I would have to say to pamper a little more. Face masks, candles...you know the drill. My skin and temperament has be a little lacklustre the past few months, hopefully relaxing more often could be the answer!

Last years beauty favourite...

Although I'm not quite as bothered by it as I initially was, I'm really happy I found the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat (Review here.), it's a gorgeous summer foundation. Not so much for winter, but that just allows me to experiment. Also, I have to shout out the Maybelline Fit Me Powder (Review here), it's incredible.

Beauty/body goal for 2013...

I really need to get back into experimenting with make-up, I have so much and the majority of it gets wasted as I have stuck myself in this neutral & nude rut! As for body, I just want to get healthy, start cooking my own food more and keep up a balanced diet, side effects can follow!

Last years biggest fashion mistake...

I play it pretty safe with fashion to be honest, I don't really follow trends all that much so I rarely do anything crazy. One thing I would say though is that I only started to feel truly comfortable wearing heels late into the year and I should never have cared! I'm fussy about heels because I'm 5'7" anyway and I don't like the experience of being tall all that much. Having said that, finding the right shoes has changed that. So I guess that's a mistake I made!

This years fashion trend prediction...

From what I've seen from collections so far, its going to be the normal floral, pastel etc, though I have seen some really cool monochrome, clash of patterns style clothes floating around, I'm fully on board with that!
This years fashion must have...

My fashion must have this year has been belted swing dresses, I've come to know my body and what suits me and I love the look of them, plus I think they easily look more expensive and fashionable than a dress cut to shape the body. I really love them.

Last years happiest moment/biggest achievement...

I'm hoping that is going to be achieving the grades that I want, I haven't got my grades all back yet though. So far so good. :)
Last years biggest challenge...

I guess that would just be having to come to terms with change in people, some friends moved away, some became less close, some just changed. That was quite tough for me, but it's all fine so there was really nothing to worry about!
This years key resolution...

Stop procrastinating (LOL! What are you doing right now?). So much perhaps. I need to kick myself into gear, this is the default one though I suppose!
Any motto/advice for the year...

I really don't live by motto's, I guess try and get myself so worked up or stressed. God this has become a somewhat depressing sounding post. But yeah, I put alot of pressure on myself, and so I need to either live up to my own Great Expectations (Like what I did there?) or set the bar lower. I know the latter won't be the one I chose though aha!

If you do this go ahead and let me know in the comments, I'd love to read your answers! I tag all my beautiful readers!

  2. Such a great tag. Dont worry about being in a natural/nude rut, I think its okay because when you go on a night out you look really different! Just my opinion anyway! Great post as ever
